Refund Policy
Payment in full is due by the deadline dates listed below:

Grades and Transcript Holds
G-MEO will not issue grades, release transcripts, provide any documentation of attendance or completion of the program until the student’s account has been paid in full.
Program Withdrawal and Deferral Policy
A written notice¹ of withdrawal or deferral from a confirmed participant must be received by G-MEO in order for the refund policy to apply. Admitted students withdrawing their enrollment to G-MEO prior to the start of the term will receive a refund as follows:
For Semester (Fall/Spring)
Cancellation up to 3 months before program start date | 100% refund excluding $300 deposit |
Cancellation up to 2 months before program start date | 50% refund excluding $300 deposit |
Cancellation up to 1 month before program start date | No refund |
For Winter
Cancellation up to 4 weeks before program start date | 100% refund excluding $300 deposit |

Cancellation after 2 weeks before program start date | No refund |
For Summer (All Chengdu/Shanghai/Online Programs)
Cancellation before May 15 of program year | 100% refund excluding $300 deposit |
Cancellation between May 15 and June 1 of program year | 50% refund excluding $300 deposit |
Cancellation after June 1 of program year | No refund |
In cases where payment has not yet been received by G-MEO up to 1 week before program start date, the student is responsible for paying the $300 deposit. In cases where payment has not yet been received by G-MEO within 1 week before program start date, the student is responsible for paying 50% of the tuition plus $300 deposit.
Admitted students may defer participation to a future term within 12 months. Should a student have paid a tuition deposit prior to giving written notice of deferral, the deposit will be applied to a future term provided the deferral is arranged before the payment deadline dates.
¹“Written notice” means notice given in accordance with any representation or words and letters in a perceivable form which includes mail and e-mail. WeChat or text message serves as a convenient way for the students to communicate with G-MEO staff, however, it is not considered a formal form of written notice.
Summer Program Add/Drop Policies
During the summer session, current students enrolled in two or three courses who drop a course(s) before the second day of class meetings as per G-MEO's summer add/drop policy will receive a 30% refund for the course dropped.
Example Calculation for Chengdu:
- For a student taking 2 courses and dropping 1: (4,600-3,500)*.30 = $330
- For a student taking 3 courses and dropping 1: (5,100-4,600)*.30 = $150
Example Calculation for Shanghai:
- For a student taking 2 courses and dropping 1: (4,800-3,800)*.30 = $300
- For a student taking 3 courses and dropping 1: (5,300-4,800)*.30 = $150
Students who fail to pay their student account in full will NOT receive their final transcript.
Summer Program Housing Policies
Housing fees for all Summer Programs will not be refunded. No housing changes may be made within 1 week of the program start date.
